Dance of the African Diaspora

Samba & Dança Afro classes are very special. Long-time students are committed to the challenge and reward of diaspora dance study. This commitment is the foundation of the warmth and welcome that awaits new and returning students of all backgrounds and disciplines. You need no previous dance experience to manifest a strong and rhythmic body.

Where & When

Omi Tutu (‘fresh water’ in Yoruba) is about study, preservation, and transformation through the medium of dance.

Nives Wetzel de Cediel is the founder and artistic director of Omi Tutu.  Omi Tutu is both a study and performance group comprised of people devoted to the acquisition and transfer of knowledge related to the artistic manifestations of the African Diaspora.

Nives teaches Samba and Dança Afro classes.  All are invited to study dance and technique in a rigorous and nurturing environment.
